 Shiferaw’s Short Biography


 


Shiferaw Tariku is Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer. He has been trained by European and African Teachers in the Contemporary, African Traditional and Ethiopian Traditional dances for five years and got his Diploma from Middlesex University in 2001. Shiferaw Tariku has been working for more than 15 years on Contemporary, African and Ethiopian Traditional dances especially he has more experience and specializes in the Ethiopian Traditional dances.


 


Shiferaw works with the company called Adugna Community Dance and Theater Company, which have been founded in 1996 by Royston Maldoom and with his assistant Mags Byren. Adugna is the first and the only contemporary dance company in Ethiopia.


In this moment Shiferaw Tariku is working on teaching and choreographing in different places of the society with different and the following types of dances,


 


            •           Contemporary dance (European style)


            •           African Contemporary and Traditional Dances


            •           Ethiopian Traditional dances and Forum Theater
