The XVIII Addis International Film Festival and the VII Fare Cinema Festival conclude with the screening of the documentary “Storie d’Africa” by Piero Cannizzaro in the original language with English subtitles.
Crossing various African countries, the documentary narrates the journeys of men and women trying to reach Europe, often at the cost of enormous suffering. Giving voice to his characters, Piero Cannizzaro tells of their courage and their strength. After the screening, there was a moment of dialogue between the director and the audience.
A journey between Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea lasted about three months following the route of CinemArena and then meet in the villages people, protagonists of the stories about the theme of emigration. The project “CinemaArena” is a traveling initiative launched by MAECI and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation that has brought cinema events in over 200 locations with the aim of promoting an information campaign on the risks of irregular immigration.
