The Polish Embassy presents the film ‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’ directed by Niki Caro. Jan Zabisnki became director of the Warsaw zoo in 1929. Together with his wife Antonina, he populated the zoological garden with the most beautiful and exotic species. In 1939, however, the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany, and the bombing that preceded it, destroyed the zoo and killed many animals.
