On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Prague spring, the Czech embassy and the Slovak embassy present “Movies from the Vault”, Golden age of the Czechoslovak cinematography of the 1960’s.
A story of three generations, ageing parents, adolescent children and younglings. Set in the Christmas season leading up to the ill-fated Prague Spring of 1968, this is the story of an idyllic romance between two teenagers from neighbouring families with radically opposing political views. With plenty of comedy, Cosy Dens portrays the awakening of a young generation that grew bored with politics in Czechoslovakia. They are instead drawn to the wonders of the Western world – rock and roll, the latest sneakers and beautiful film stars.
