On the occasion of Europe Day which is celebrated on 9 May, the exhibition “Europe. Italian illustration recounts the Europe of peoples” was organized, an initiative promoted by the Turin Museums Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Turin, the Piedmont Region and Palazzo Madama, with the patronage of the Farnesina and the Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition consists of sixteen original illustrations created by internationally renowned Italian artists, concerning the founding values of the European Union and promoted by the Council of Europe. Of high political, ethical and civic significance, the exhibition aims to illustrate to the world, in an organic way, the set of values underlying the community of European states. Composing through the artistic language a current and creative story of Europe and its principles with an illustration dedicated to each of them, from freedom to democracy, from the rule of law to environmental protection.
