The Italian Embassy celebrated the second edition of the Italian Sports Day in the World at the Italian Cultural Institute. The event focused specifically on the importance of sport, in its many forms, as a tool for social inclusion, personal growth, and physical and mental well-being. The program included speeches by Ambassador Palese, “Ambassador for Africa for Sports for the Blind” Giovanni Avallone, and the heads of the Ministry of Sport and the Ethiopian Paralympic Committee. The program was followed by a dance performance by disabled children from the Ethiopian OSC Deborah Foundation, coordinated by Professor Antonella Ciappetta, and a five-a-side football demonstration between two teams of visually impaired children from the IPO Ethiopia Foundation and the “Kality School for the Blind,” coordinated by Coach Avallone.

The celebrations in Addis Ababa for the Italian Sports Day in the World, which were actively attended by students from the Galileo Galilei Comprehensive Italian State School, not only highlighted Italian excellence in sport, but also highlighted the role of sport as a universal language that breaks down barriers, creates connections, and offers growth opportunities for all, promoting integration and inclusion.
