Synopsis
In the Rome of the second half of the forties, Delia plays exclusively the roles of wife and mother, while her husband Ivano is the head of the family. The engagement of the firstborn, with a boy from the middle class, creates ferment in the family. When Delia receives a mysterious letter, she is determined to overturn the roles and finally imagines a better future.
