FIRST EDITION OF THE MADE IN ITALY DAY

Opening Gattinoni 1420 x 2000
The celebrations of the first edition of the Made in Italy  Day – organized in Ethiopia by the Embassy of Italy and  IIC of Addis Abeba  in collaboration with Italian and local partners – were held under the sign of sustainable fashion.
The creative project “Sustainable Made in Italy. From High Fashion to Young Designers”, created together with the Maison Gattinoni Couture and the Modartech Institute, testifies – through over 20 sustainable creations and the famous Tricolore  dress by Guillermo Mariotto (chosen for the occasion as a symbolic work of the celebrations in Addis Ababa), the respect of Italian fashion for the environment, social equity and artisanal excellence, values transmitted by our historic maisons to young designers. The exhibition can be visited at the IIC of Addis Abeba  until May 20th, 2024.
The exhibition was preceeded by an exciting masterclass for young Ethiopian creatives, “Italy Is in Fashion”, focused on Made in Italy between innovation and global challenges and held by Stefano Dominella, President of the Maison Gattinoni Couture.
Finally, on the occasion of the 2024 Vespa World Days and the 140th anniversary of the Piaggio Group, a tribute to the iconic scooter  of Italian design in the world could not be missing, with the Ethiopian preview of the RAI film “Enrico Piaggio – An Italian Dream”.
