In the occasion of the 8th Italian Design Day in the World, the Embassy of Italy, Agenzia ITA/ICE and IIC in Addis Ababa,in collaboration with the partners, The Urban Center and the University of Addis Ababa organise an intense and articulated three-day program focused on the theme “Manufacturing value – inclusiveness, innovation and sustainability”.
During an intense and complex three-day program, a large and qualified audience, including many young people and university students, interact dynamically with the #IDD2024 Testimonial in Ethiopia, Stefano Mirti (Director of Scuola Superiore di Arte Applicata di Milano ), who illustrates the importance of design in “manufacturing value”, generating innovative ideas that promote inclusiveness and sustainability in the context of the workshop “A Design Manifesto in the Age of AI” at the University of Addis Abeba.
The training activities end with a pop-up exhibition of notebooks, designed by the participants using paper and other sustainable materials, and a lecture by architect Mirti, who present the transformations brought by artificial intelligence in the fields of design and architecture.
