An “ethio-jazz” evening that you cannot miss!
The Italian guitarist Stefano Carbonelli, the double bass player Andrea Di Biase and the cool sound of Kaÿn Lab will give life to a jazz session with Ethio-Italian tones!
Stefano Carbonelli – Among the names of the most interesting young talents of Italian jazz, that of the Roman guitarist Stefano Carbonelli is now firmly among those most cited. Revealed in 2016 with a great record for Auand Records, he released a new album in 2017, this time for Cam Records, entitled Morphé. Active also in the trio of Jacopo Ferrazza and in the sextet of Francesco Ponticelli, both bassists, Carbonelli is an artist of great rigor and intelligence.
Andrea Di Biase – Double bass player and composer, he studied Classical Double Bass at Conservatory of Milan. In the UK he has played concerts with outstanding musicians like Stan Sultzman, Norma Winstone, Pete Saberton and Asaf Sirkis. He played in major festivals such the London Jazz Festival, The Hague Jazz Festival and was invited at the 2011 Meeting of IASJ (International Association of Schools of Jazz) in Sao Paolo, Brazil in which occasion he played with the jazz giant Dave Liebman.
Kaÿn Lab – The group is composed by saxophonist Jonovan Cooper, Nurelislam Adam Suliman on the trumpet,Abiy Woldemariam on the keyboard, Teferi Assefa on the drums, Henock Temesgen on the bass, is an experimental jazz fusion band focusing on Ethiopian rhythms & modes, hence the name: Kaÿn – The Long Awaited One and Lab – Laboratory. Kaÿn Lab was first brought together in March 2014. It all started as an idea to take a group of like-minded musicians that had a passion for creativity to work together to create something collectively and continually.
