Public launch of the SAIMP project strenthening african-italian museum partnership

The initiative, funded by the Italian Government, involves four museums in Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo—specifically, the National Museum of Ethiopia, the Ethnological Museum in Addis Ababa, the National Museum in Lubumbashi, and the Uganda Museum in Kampala. Local partners include the universities of Makerere, Addis Ababa, and Lubumbashi, the Ethiopian Heritage Authority, and the Uganda Department of Museums and Monuments.

The SAIMP project aims to strengthen dialogue between African and Italian stakeholders in the cultural heritage sector, fostering co-creation and collaboration between museums, universities, and institutions to enhance shared heritage and build sustainable partnerships between Italian and African museums, also with a view to promoting cultural and tourism development.
