On the occasion of Dante Day on 25 March 2025, the Father of the Italian language speaks Amharic, thanks to the students of the Italian language and culture courses at the Italian Cultural Institute in Addis Ababa!
To celebrate the National Day dedicated to Dante Alighieri, the students Bilen Lemma & Seble Lemma, coordinated by the Lecturer Prof. Roberta Abballe, participated in the initiative “Dante, tercets in all the languages of the world”. This international project is promoted by the ALIM (Association of Italian Language Lecturers in the World) and involves students and teachers from 10 cities spread Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe: Addis Ababa, Baku, Belgrade, Bucharest, Cairo, Jakarta, Lima, Beijing, Tirana, and Vancouver.
Even today, more than 700 years after his death, Dante’s literary legacy is a bridge and a tool of intercultural dialogue, which continues to keep interest in Italian language and culture alive in the world.
