ITALIAN DANTE/DANTE GLOBAL

The XXI Week of the Italian Language in the World opens with the presentation of the first translation into Amharic language of two Dante’s passages, the sonnet “Tanto gentile e tanto onesta pare” and Canto I of “Inferno” (“The Divine Comedy”).
Speakers: Prof. Enrico Terrinoni (University for Foreigners of Perugia), Prof. Andrea Manzo (University of Napoli “L’Orientale”), and translators Prof. Gianfrancesco Lusini (University of Naples “L’Orientale”) and Prof. Ayalneh Mulatu (Addis Abeba University).

The conference will end with a reading marathon in varius foreign languages of the sonnet “Tanto gentile e tanto onesta pare” and Canto I of “Inferno” by students attending the Foreign Languages and Literatures Department at the University of Addis Ababa.
